This year we visit Nidd, Harrogate for the first time. We will spend 7 nights at Nidd Hall an elegant Hotel which is just a few minutes from Harrogate and 10 minutes from historic and picturesque Knaresborough, with its beautiful castle and viaduct overlooking the river Nidd.
Location
Nidd Hall Hotel is a Grade II - listed retreat in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. You can lose yourself in the beauty of this stunning building where Edward VIII is said to have first met Mrs Wallis Simpson. Experience the tranquillity of the library, or take a stroll around the magnificent grounds. They have done wonders to preserve Nidd Hall's essential character with 45 Acres of Victorian and Edwardian landscaped parkland, manicured sculpted gardens with stepped terraces as well as a terraced tearoom for morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea.
Hotel Facilities
Rooms are equipped with direct dial telephone, hairdryer, TV with radio, lounge chairs and en-suite bathroom with toiletries. There is fresh water angling all year round and amazing sports and leisure facilities with a fantastic outdoor bowling green, pitch 'n' putt, croquet, boules, and a full compliment of Decleor health and beauty treatments. There is also a fully equipped leisure facility with an indoor pool, steam room and sauna.
Travel & Excursions
Travel will be by luxury coach from Victoria to Nidd Hall and during the holiday. It will be possible for some to remain in their wheelchairs when travelling on the coach. During the holiday a number of excursions will be arranged which is included in the cost of the holiday. For those who wish to make their own travel arrangements to the hotel there will be a reduction of £10. It may be possible to join the coach en-route.
Insurance
Disaway will not be taking out travel insurance for this holiday, it is not felt necessary to obtain travel insurance for an English Holiday as most people can claim for any loss of property from their home contents insurance, and for medical care one can rely on the good old NHS! If you wish to obtain insurance then please let us know when you apply for an application form and guidance notes to assist you will be sent.
Holiday Costs
The cost of this 7 night holiday, including travel, excursions, and half board (bed, breakfast & evening meal) will be £630. Each disabled person will have their own helper, and at least one member of the Disaway Council of Management and a R.G.N. will be travelling with the group throughout the holiday.
Holidaymakers are asked to send £100 deposit with their completed application form.
Helpers are asked to make a minimum contribution of £350 towards the cost of the holiday, although any further donation will be gratefully received.
